Refrigeration & temperature control

Controlling temperature during fermentation and/or storage can have a hugely beneficial effect on the quality of your wine and also gives you conditions which can be replicated with each batch.

Vigo offers the Kreyer range of specialist refrigeration and temperature control equipment from Germany. This equipment is designed to meet the rigorous requirements of modern winemaking including the key functions listed below:

  • Cold settling of must and juices
  • Fermentation control, including control by CO₂ monitoring
  • Cold stabilisation of wines
  • Malolactic fermentation control (with heating option standard on most units)
  • Long term control of product storage temperature
  • Product chilling prior to carbonation

Heat exchange can occur at the tank level, through heat exchange panels, jackets or coils. Vigo has vast experience of specifying and installing temperature control systems.
