About Lyme Bay

The Lyme Bay Winery produces award-winning English wines, fruit wines, fruit liqueurs, meads and traditional ciders. They have gained an impressive array of awards from the International Wine and Spirits Competition (IWCS), Decanter World Wine, UKVA English & Welsh Wine of the Year, Great Taste and the International Cider Challenge. Lyme Bay was founded by Nigel Howard, and is run by Managing Director, James Lambert.

Lyme Bay's Requirements

Tanks were required to give flexibility to permit the maximum efficiency in the production process of the wide range of products. It was essential that the tanks should be easy to use and very easily cleaned.

The Solution

Vigo supplied a range of Speidel tanks ranging from 10,000 litres down to 2,500 litres capacity and smaller, with accessories to suit the user’s requirements.


James Lambert said, “We were well aware that Speidel tanks were a benchmark for quality and this, combined with Vigo’s excellent service, convinced us that this was the right choice.”
