About South East Bottling

South East Bottling provide a contract bottling service for the craft brewery sector and are based in Broadstairs, East Kent. The company was founded as a result of 3 breweries - Sambrook’s Brewery, Westerham Brewing Co and The Ramsgate Brewery - working collaboratively to meet the bottling needs of each brewery.

South East Bottling's Requirements

Respective brewery owners Duncan Sambrook, Robert Wicks and Eddie Gadd have over 30 years of combined brewing experience and used this to source a bottling line which was flexible enough to provide a bottling solution for other craft breweries in addition to their own.

The Solution

Vigo supplied South East Bottling with a CIMEC automatic counter pressure filling machine (America DPS 12/12/1) with rinsing and capping function, to fill at a rate of 1700 bottles per hour, and an S3T6/R rotary labelling machine.

Duncan gave the following feedback:

Why did you choose Vigo? 'I chose VIGO because of the after sales support & training.'

How satisfied are you with the equipment and service supplied? 'The quality of the beer in bottle is excellent which is what we wanted to achieve. It is a flexible system which allows us to bottle filtered, unfiltered and bottle-conditioned beer into 330ml bottles and two different 500ml bottle types. We have the flexibility to apply front, back, neck and full wrap around labels to these bottles, all of which is great for the growing demand of the craft brewing sector. The after sales support has been excellent.'

What positive impact has the equipment had on your business? 'The business has been founded on being able to provide a flexible bottling solution for small runs of beer. The system provided by VIGO has enabled us to provide this which is great for the individual brewery needs and the needs of our customers.'
