Chiltern Ridge is a rapidly expanding apple juicing business in Buckinghamshire. They produce juice from their own orchard, and also provide a bespoke apple juice making service for individuals who grow apples in the area.
Chiltern Ridge approached Vigo with a requirement for a flexible system able to press small batches of fruit, ensuring that customers receive juice from their own apples. The system also needed to be able to cope with high levels of throughput with a minimal labour requirement.
For the press, we recommended the Voran EBP500 for this application - it has no batch limit and has a proven ability to provide high yields of juice.
We supplied, installed and commissioned a complete pressing/milling line including a Voran sorting table, a Voran WALC elevator/mill and an EBP500 belt press, a juice pump and level controller.
