A yeast which ferments well at lower temperatures (13-17°C), developed by Erbslöh, a leading producer of processing aids.

  • Well suited to wines where preserving aromas is desirable
  • Can also be used for country wines. Dominic Rivard, consultant fruit winemaker stated in an online article for Wine Maker about country wine yeasts: 'Freddo: I have just started to use this yeast strain recently and I am very happy with the results. I find that it brings out the fresh fruit aroma that I look for many of the wine styles I produce.'

Erbslöh's Oenoferm yeasts are now manufactured using Erbslöh's F3 process to provide improved fermentation performance.

  • A special propagation medium, rich in minerals and strengthening vitamins, is used for cultivation
  • From the multiplication phase up until the phase where optimal cell density is reached, the yeasts are supplied with essential components to give complete fermentation even in sub-optimal or stress conditions
