If you're interested in learning more about the 'whys' and 'hows' of temperature control in terms of your product, this is for you.
How can cooling/temperature control be achieved?
Temperature can be controlled via 2 methods:
How can we help?
We supply WTG Quantor (incorporating the Kreyer brand) temperature control equipment designed and manufactured specifically for drink applications. We also supply Speidel stainless steel tanks (insulated or standard) with heating/cooling jackets. Both brands are internationally renowned.
Our team of engineers install and commission the complete cooling/temperature regulation system, this includes the construction of a bespoke ringmain (pipework, as pictured to the right).
Please see our Quantor page for more information on what we offer and access to our Case Studies.
We also supply carbonation equipment, should you be chilling in order to carbonate.
Which drinks are covered?
Quantor equipment is suitable for wine, beer, cider, juice, spirits, mead, kombucha, water kefir and soft drink applications. Here are some of the key temperature control functions by drink type, which can be achieved with the equipment:
For wine
Temperature control can be a real asset to wineries in terms of optimising the consistency, the qualities, and the aromas characteristic of English and Welsh wines. Functions include...
For beer
Temperature control in breweries is important to control quality and consistency of product. For example, wort can be cooled at the rate required, fermentation occurs at the rate required, and beer can be stored in the correct conditions. Controlling temperature can also help your product retain some of the delicate flavours which can be easily lost. Chilling is also essential where beer is to be carbonated. Functions include...
For cider and other drinks
Cidermakers and producers of a variety of other drinks can use temperature control to optimise the consistency and quality of their product and chill it prior to carbonation. Functions include ...
What equipment is available?
The Quantor range consists of separate units, regulators, ancillary equipment and IT infrastructure, including the following:
The setup is very flexible and modular. You could have a single unit and controller for one or 2 tanks, for example, or a complete and comprehensive centralised control system, such as the VinInfo system.
VinInfo is a modular regulation, control and information system which is software controlled and includes a system for the control of tank temperature, CO2 emissions, pumps and cooling units, timed operations, oxygenation dosing, room temperature and humidity, etc. The system includes unlimited archiving of tank processes and alarms by email or SMS.
What about energy efficiency?
Quantor's chilling / temperature control units include energy efficient design features including high-efficiency refrigerants, low-noise with smart system controls, and built in redundancy; they can also include reversible chillers with heat-recovery for an ample supply of hot water for you to use where you wish. These, in addition to a site-specific thermal site calculation, will provide proportional energy-saving to help save on power consumption and reduce your carbon footprint.
Why Quantor?
We choose to work with Quantor (incorporating the Kreyer brand) for these simple reasons:
