Applications

For wine & cider

  • Pre-filter (coarse) sediment removal using SupaGard

  • Sediment removal/polishing/clarifying/trap filtration (including Kieselguhr/diatomaceous earth powder removal after DE filtration, where backwashing is not used) using SupaSpun II

  • Pre-membrane (fine) filtration to remove yeast, for bioburden reduction, and to protect the membrane filter from debris, using SupaPore FPW

  • Membrane (sterile) filtration to remove spoilage organisms using SupaPore VPW

  • After cross flow filtration, cartridge filters can be used downstream as a 'policing' filter to ensure that bottled wine quality is not compromised should bypass occur in the crossflow system.

For beer

  • Polishing/trap filtration (including Kieselguhr/diatomaceous earth powder removal after DE filtration, where backwashing is not used) using SupaSpun II

  • Fine filtration to remove yeast, for bioburden reduction prior to cold stabilisation/pasteurisation*/sterile filtration, and to protect the sterilising filters from debris, using SupaPore FPW (*) when used prior to pasteurisation this can reduce the energy requirement for the pasteuriser and reduce the degradation of the beer that excess heat can cause

  • Sterile filtration/cold stabilisation to remove spoilage organisms using SupaPore VPW. This process can offer a viable and economic alternative to pasteurisation. It is also used where taste is paramount (filtration will not adversely affect the taste of beer). Where flash pasteurisation is or has been used it offers a simple replacement, as the hygienic handling/filling protocols and equipment will already be in place.

For juice

  • High debris (coarse) removal using DuoLine Minibag

  • Sediment removal/polishing/clarifying/trap filtration (including Kieselguhr/diatomaceous earth powder removal after DE filtration, where backwashing is not used) using SupaSpun II

  • After cross flow filtration, cartridge filters can be used downstream as a 'policing' filter should bypass occur in the crossflow system.

For soft drinks

  • Primary filtration, including removing visible particles that can affect product quality and the very fine particles which can cause background haze (polishing filtration) using SupaSpun II - typically used for water filtration

  • Fine filtration to remove micro-organisms (such as yeasts) using SupaSpun II

  • Sterile filtration of bottled water using SupaPore VPW

For Infused Products

  • High debris (coarse) removal for infused products such as tea/gin, etc. using DuoLine Minibag
